Why I don't place much faith in product reviews.
A quote from a review of the Green Mountain 1022 barrel.
This has to be the best review to date.
First of all, the guy does not know how to spell.
Second, who would sand .0002, 2 10 thousandths of an inch off the receiver?
Always sand the barrel!
Last, 1/8" group at 100 yards? This guy has the best rifle ever made and he
is definitely the
best marksman in the universe.
Green Mountain makes a great product, I have one of their
barrels. I don't think any brand barrel
on a 1022 can shoot that good. Your comments are welcome. TeamRimfire@yahoo.com
"Straight out of the shipping tube it was wrapped in bubble wrap on the outside
and a rust-inhibiting paper aroung the barrel. Taking the factory barrel off a 10/22
is not hard took about 5 min. The stainless steel finish looks good the flutes are
cut perfectly with no defects. Installing took about 6 min becasue you need to
sand about 0.0002 off the 10/22's reciever so the barrel will seat properly but
other than that it was a drop-in fit. It sits in a Fajen Adjustable Stock, the Green
Mountain Barrel, a VC 2000 Trigger in Black , and a Leupold scope with Warne rings
on the Weaver Tactical scope mount for the 10/22, and this is a great target rifle
combo so far. Only been to the range twice with it once just sighting it in and then
again with some cheap 22LR rounds and it shot extremely well 1/8 inch group at
100 yards but there is still some work to be done on the gun like finding the 'best'
ammo for the gun and barrel."
